Louisburg’s newest shopping center welcomed another tenant last week: For Women Only.

The Overland Park-based obstetrical and gynecological center moved from its location in the Louisburg Marketplace shopping center on East Amity Street to its new location in the Louisburg Village Market shopping center on West Amity Street.

Four years ago obstetrician James Mirabile started For Women Only’s satellite clinic in Louisburg with the help of Miami County Medical Center.

The medical center helped the clinic set up its office in Louisburg Marketplace, said office manager Heather Wilming.

“Unfortunately, the strip center where we were at, we were promised other tenants were going in with us — a dentist, dry cleaner, a restaurant,” Wilming said. “We thought we were going to get some great traffic, but there’s a lot of people that didn’t know we were there.”

When Louisburg Village Market opened up last fall, the opportunity to move presented itself.

“Dr. Mirabile was driving to the old office one day and said that’s where we need to be,” Wilming said.

The decision to move was made in October, Wilming said, and the office reopened its doors at its new location Dec. 10.

For Women Only offers services to pregnant women, weight management and well woman care.

The Louisburg office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. The office can be reached at 837-3199.

The office has a staff of five: doctors Gina Petelin and Mirabile, certified nurse midwife Lindsey O’Neil, nurse practitioner Bridget Webb and receptionist Kristen Danser.

“As a lifelong Louisburgian, we’re hoping with this move we’re going to be busy, and the goal is to be open four days and serving all of Miami County out of that office,” Wilming, who is a Louisburg resident, said.

Ironhorse Dental

Another tenant is also slated to move in to Louisburg Village Market next year.

Ironhorse Dental, which has an office in south Overland Park, recently announced it plans to open an office in Louisburg.

The dental care office hung a sign in its intended location two weeks ago, letting residents know to expect them to come to Louisburg in the coming months.
Ironhorse Dental’s Web site is www.ironhorsedental.com.

Calls to the business’s Overland Park location and Merrill Cos., the developer of the strip center, seeking further information were not returned.
