Louisburg Boy Scouts, Louisburg High School band members, parents and members of the Louisburg American Legion color guard gathered Dec. 13 for the second annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at the veterans memorial in Louisburg Cemetery.About a dozen scouts held flags, laid a wreath and presented their colors for the ceremony, while LHS band members played Taps for the 20 spectators on hand to witness the Scouts. “I was impressed with the turnout, using ‘cowboy math,’ it comes up to about 40 people there for the ceremony. What a far cry from the six Legionnaires last year,” said organizer Mike Steck. Steck said Band Director John Cisetti asked for volunteers to play Taps, and five students stepped forward, and Scout Leader Rodney Kasitz organized the Boy Scouts. Members of the Legion paid for the wreath. More information about Wreaths Across America is available at www.wreathsacrossamerica.com.
