John Edward Shields, 69, Blue Springs, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs. In the 1970s he owned Shields Chevrolet and Buick. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he owned and operated Shields Real Estate and Auctioneering. He is survived by a daughter and four sons; a sister, Gloria Stone of Louisburg; 11 grandchildren, and his best friend and companion, Larisa Anders. Services were Tuesday followed by burial in Paola Cemetery. Arrangements were by Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO 64015, (816) 229-3276.
