Louisburg finished with three champions and had several place in the process. Cade Holtzen won the 6-and-under 37-pound crown, Evan Wapp captured the 8-and-under 55-pound title, and Mason Koechner won the 10-and-under 120-pound division. The winning didn’t stop there, however. Holtzen and Koechner each picked up another title at last weekend’s Johnson County Classic. Louisburg placed seven more wrestlers at the tournament and finished strong. At the Johnson County Classic on Saturday, Holtzen won his class in the novice division. He started out with a pin of Olathe East’s Peyton Reboulet and later pinned teammate Ryan Owens. Holtzen went on to pin Rossville’s Trent Gentry and won by forfeit in his final match. Koechner won the open class at 120 pounds after he pinned Turner’s Tanner Sutton in the championship match. Hayden Yeager (6U-46) and Grant King (8U heavyweight) finished second the novice division at Johnson County, while teammates Ryan Owens (6U-37) and Jackson Flood (6U-40) finished third and fourth, respectively. In the open class, Austin Moore (8U-73) took second while Bret Minor (8U-52) finished third. Blake Flood (8U-88) took fourth. In Paola, Holtzen started his day with a pin of Jayhawk-Linn’s Corbin White and later pinned Ottawa’s Hagen Page in the semifinals. Holtzen pinned Paola’s Brett Hollinger in the title match as well. Wapp posted a 4-0 mark in his division and started his day with a 6-0 decision over Spring Hill’s Hayden Stinemetz and followed that up with a 7-0 decision over Ottawa’s Justine Kennington. After winning by forfeit in his next match, Wapp ended his day with a pin of Olathe South’s Eric Christman to take the title. Koechner opened his round with a 8-0 major decision of Linn County’s Dillon Tomblin and later pinned Allen County’s Dacoda Settlemyer. He pinned the Cougar’s Cole Johnson in the title match to take first. Yeager, Austin Moore (8U-73) and David Bindi (10U-58) all finished runner-up on the day, while Cole Gunner Ewalt (6U-43) and Jackson Owens (8U-61) took third. Minor, Blake Flood (8U-88), Jordan Schlesner (10U-76) and Curtis Lemke (14U-125) finished fourth. John Evans, Brian Evans, Keehan Sluuter, Logan Elbrader, Kale Clark, Blaine Ray, Seth Burnett, Bryan Burnett, Isaac Dulgarian, Jake Elbrader, Cullen Hood, Jake Bradley and Joseph Pomatto each won titles for the Paola Kids Wrestling Club.
