Legion seeks academy applicants PDF Print E-mail

Louisburg American Legion John P. Hand Post No. 250 and the Auxiliary Unit No. 250 are looking for juniors in high school who are interested in law enforcement as a career to attend the annual Cadet Law Enforcement Academy.

Since 1969, the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary have co-sponsored the annual Cadet Law Enforcement Academy.

The purpose of the academy is to help young men and women gain knowledge about the training and responsibilities of law enforcement officers.
Participants must be juniors in high school and have a “B” grade point average.

The next academy will be held from May 31 through June 5.

John P. Hand Post No. 250 and Auxiliary Unit No. 250 will mail applications and brochures to any qualified  person interested in attending the academy.

To have an application for the program mailed to them, interested people should call David Mader at (913) 731-7489 or Barbara Meyer at 837-4425.
