A 34-year-old Osawatomie man faces prison time for having sex with a 14-year-old Paola girl. Albert A. Roberts pleaded guilty last year to two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child of 14 years, intercourse. He also originally was charged with criminal sodomy, but that was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. He was sentenced last week to six years, seven months in prison on the first count and 4 years, 11 months on the second count, to run concurrently, with three years of post-release supervision. Roberts was booked into the Miami County Jail on Aug. 12, 2008, after members of the Osawatomie and Paola police departments executed a search warrant at his Osawatomie home, according to a news release. Paola detectives began investigating the case after the juvenile’s mother filed a report on Aug. 5, according to the release. The report alleged that Roberts had unlawful sexual relations with the girl in both Osawatomie and Paola during June.
