As the Kansas Legislature ramps up for the 2009 session, area legislators are coming to Louisburg to talk about issues affecting residents this year.

Louisburg’s annual legislative breakfast is set for Feb. 7. The event begins at 7 a.m. at Louisburg High School, 202 Aquatic Drive.

Sens. Pat Apple (R-Louisburg) and Karin Brownlee (R-Olathe) and Reps. Jene Vickrey (R-Louisburg) and Bill Feuerborn (D-Garnett) are among area legislators invited to speak at the annual event.

The event is free and open to the public, who will be able to interact with the legislators.

“They’ll have an opportunity to write down questions,” said organizer Patsy Bortner.

Chris Cakes is catering the breakfast.

Other legislative breakfasts scheduled in the county include:
  •     Paola, 7 a.m. Feb. 14, Holy Trinity Catholic School, 601 E. Chippewa St.
