Clyde and Peggy Mathis of Paola will celebrate 50 years of marriage Feb. 14, 2009. Clyde Mathis and Peggy White were married Feb. 14, 1959, at the First Baptist Church in Osawatomie. They made their home in Paola.   Mr. Mathis is retired from Honeywell in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Mathis is and a retired housewife and mother. The couple have two children, Nancy Mathis of Higginsville, Mo., and Brent Mathis and his wife, Emiley, of Ottawa. They also have two grandchildren. The Mathises will celebrate their anniversary with a small family gathering. They will celebrate with family and friends at a later date.
