A Stilwell resident woke up feeling like a million bucks Feb. 8.

The Stilwell resident, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed a $1,604,036 Super Kansas Cash jackpot. The winner had the single ticket that matched all numbers in the Feb. 7 Super Kansas Cash drawing.

“I checked my ticket from the numbers that were listed in the newspaper,” the winner said in a news release. “When I saw that I’d matched all the numbers, I asked my spouse to take a look to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.”

The winning ticket was a $5 Quick Pick. The winning numbers were: 18-20-23-26-30 Cashball 09.

“I’ve been buying tickets for 15 years,” the winner said. “I play once a week and always buy Quick Pick tickets. It’s been quite a shock winning a jackpot. It hasn’t settled in yet and probably won’t until the money is in the bank.”

The Super Kansas Cash jackpot is paid in one lump sum. After mandatory 25 percent federal taxes of $401,009 and 5 percent state taxes of $80,202 are withheld, the winner will receive a check for $1,122,825, according to the news release.

The winning ticket was purchased at Queen’s Price Chopper No. 6, located at 7201 W. 151st St., Overland Park.
