Louisburg USD 416 has big changes coming in the district's administration after Superintendent Rick Doll accepted a position with the Lawrence USD 497 school district. Allen said the board discussed Doll's departure at Monday night's meeting, but Lawrence's decision to hire Doll as its superintendent was to remain confidential until Wednesday evening, when the Lawrence board of education was scheduled to confirm Doll's hiring in a special meeting. "This has been the most confidential process I've ever been through," Doll said. Pending board approval, Doll will vacate his position in Louisburg on June 1 and take over in Lawrence in July. Also planned for Louisburg's special board meeting Thursday morning is discussion on how to go about filling Louisburg High School Principal Sally Lundblad's position. The board accepted her resignation Monday night.

John Cleek: ...
When we hired Rick Doll as Superintendent for our school district I believed we had hired the best educational leader in Kansas and nothing has happened since he has been here to suggest otherwise.
As much as I would like to see him remain in Louisburg, I knew it was only a matter of time until we would lose him to a district that could offer a greater challenge. I consider Lawrence to be one of the top districts in Kansas and thus feel it is a high compliment to Rick Doll and to our school district that they have selected him as their next leader. Under Rick Doll's leadership our schools have gone from good to great and the children of Louisburg are fortunate to be in a district that places such high value on excellence. Congratulations and best wishes to Rick Doll and to the Lawrence School District. 1

Sandy Harris: ...
From day one, Rick Doll gave himself to becoming fully a part of this community and was so crucial to the inevitable expansion of our school district. He challenged the community to make significant decisions about the quality and responsiveness of our district and while the choices were complicated and costly, the benefits outweigh the cost. He was and is committed to education in Kansas and Lawrence will benefit from his service there just as we did while he served our district.
Louisburg and USD 416,already committed to quality education, made a great decision to call Rick Doll to this place. Won't it be exciting to see who comes our way now? Best wishes to Rick and to our School Board in their search! 2
