Ray Dean Bendorf 1928-2009 Ray Dean Bendorf, 80, Paola, formerly of Louisburg, died March 24, 2009, at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. Ray and his twin sister, Fay, were born March 28, 1928, in Louisburg, to Jake Bendorf and Martha Whitmore Bendorf. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1946 and served in the U. S. Army in Germany from 1954 to 1956. On June 24, 1975, Ray was united in marriage to Betty Jenkins Harper in Miami, Okla. He worked for Charles Dellinger of Bucyrus and Jack Cooper Transport Co. as a truck driver for 35 years. A member and past master of the Louisburg Masonic Peace Lodge No. 243, he received his Masonic 50-year emblem in January. He also was a life member of the Louisburg Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Abdallah Shrine Mounted Patrol, Order of the Eastern Star and the Louisburg Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold and sister, Fay McLloyd. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; stepdaughter, Jeanette Mathena of Huntsville, Ala.; stepson, Wayne Harper of Pleasanton; two step-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Honorary pall bearers were the Abdallah Mounted Patrol. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Louisburg on Saturday, followed by a Masonic ceremony.
