Micala Martin of Louisburg was recently named to the honor roll at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Martin was named to the President’s Honor Roll for the 2009 spring semester by carrying a 4.0 grade point average while a student at KCKCC.




Lindsay Sprague of Louisburg earned honors while a student at the University of Central Missouri.

Sprague earned a place on the 2009 spring semester Dean’s List by receiving a 4.0 grade point average in her coursework.




Brittany Barney, a sophomore theater major at the University of Kansas, was one of 62 students to receive part of the more than $100,000 in scholarships and awards presented through the KU Endowment.

Barney received the Margaret Bushong and Suzanne Calvin Scholarship and Loren W. Kennedy Traineeship.

The traditional Theatre Stage Supper was May 8 on the Crafton-Preyer Theatre stage, and the 2008-09 Film Awards Spectacular, featuring the announcement of the Tensie Awards, was May 15 at Liberty Hall.




Kevin Morgan was the recipient of a $1,000 Ford Trucks/Built Ford Tough scholarship through the National FFA Organization and sponsored by Louisburg Ford Sales Inc.

Morgan graduated from Louisburg High School in May and plans to use the funds to pursue a degree at Kansas State University. The scholarship is one of 1,462 awarded through the National FFA Scholarship program, and applicants are selected based on academic record, FFA involvement, school activities, supervised agricultural experience program and future goals.
