Property owners who recently requested to be annexed into the city are now requesting a variance to be allowed to build a barn on their 15-acre property at  the southeast corner of 287th Street and Rogers Road.

Because the parcel of land falls under residential zoning is but is significantly larger than other residential lots within the city limits, the request to build a barn must go through the variance process, City Administrator Jeff Cantrell said.

The Louisburg Board of Zoning Appeals will hear T.J. and Aimee Williams’ variance request during a meeting at 6:30 p.m. today before the regularly scheduled Louisburg Planning Commission meeting.

At the planners’ meeting, commissioners will consider the meeting schedule from now through December 2010. Meetings are proposed to be on the last Wednesday of each month, except for November and December. November meetings are proposed to be the third Wednesday of the month, and December meetings the last Monday.

Tonight’s meetings will be at City Hall, 5 S. Peoria St.
