 Jack and Vicky Wempe of Lyons, Kan., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this month with children and grandchildren at Branson, Mo.Jack Wempe and the former Vicky Kelly were married June 27, 1959, at the Wea Catholic Church in Bucyrus. Mr. Wempe enjoyed a career in education, business and government, and Mrs. Wempe retired from a career in nursing. The couple has six children and 11 grandchildren. Their children and their spouses are Mary and Mark Konen and John and Susan Wempe, all of Little River, Kan.; Bill and Nancy Wempe of Fort Worth, Texas; Pat and Julie Wempe of Fort Meade, Md.; Carolyn and Romy Anderson of Dallas, Texas; and Beth and Cole Watts of Derby, Kan. The Wempes reside at 915 N. Noble, Lyons, KS 67554. They own and manage residential rental property, garden extensively and are involved in numerous volunteer activities.
