A little girl who was missing is now safe, thanks to the efforts of the Louisburg Police Department and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Isuara Rios-Rodriguez, 2, was reported missing from Louisburg on Friday, after she was allegedly abducted by her mother, Veronica Rios-Rodriguez.

Police had information that the two could have traveled to Minnesota or Mexico, and on Monday afternoon, officials found the two in Minnesota after receiving a tip they may have fled there.

Louisburg Police Sgt. Bill Smith said a $100,000 warrant was issued for Veronica Rios-Rodriguez for aggravated interference with parental custody.

“If it weren’t for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children — they made life so much easier and gave us lots of help,” Smith said.

Smith said Isuara has been placed in the custody of social services officials until her father can travel to Minnesota to pick her up.
