Jim and Lynette Vallacqua announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jenna, to Jason Crooks, all of Louisburg.

The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Louisburg High School and a 2007 graduate of Johnson County Community College. She is employed by Olathe Medical Center as a nurse assistant. She is the granddaughter of Tony and Clara Vallacqua and Martha Good, all of Louisburg.

The groom-elect is the son of Gail Crooks of Ottawa, and the late Mark Crooks and Cindy Crooks of Tescott, Kan. He is a 1996 graduate of Louisburg High School. He is employed by Siemens Building Technology as a senior fire and security technician. He is the grandson of Don and Lennie Crooks of Mound City, Karen Cannon and Raymond Wallace of Prescott, Kan., and Lloyd and Frances Marsh of Fulton, Kan.

An Oct. 17 wedding is planned at the Immaculate Conception Church in Louisburg.
