1935-2010 Verna Sue Coltrin Thomas, 74, longtime resident of Louisburg, died Jan. 16, 2010. Sue, as she was known, was born to Ted J. and Margery O. Coltrin in Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 21, 1935. After graduating from Louisburg High School in 1953, she worked for Trans World Airlines for over 40 years and was a director of the TWA Alumni Group. She was also a member of the Louisburg Lions Club, Red Hat Society, and the Immaculate Conception Altar Society. A son preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Edwin of 55 years; two sons, Edward Thomas of Andover, Kan., and Jeffery Thomas of Hollywood, Calif.; two brothers, John Coltrin of Louisburg and Roger Coltrin of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren. Services were Tuesday with burial immediately following at the Louisburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were her brothers, John and Roger Coltrin, sons, Edward and Jeffery, and grandsons, Sam and Asa.
