1917-2010 Dale Everhart, 92, Paola, died Feb. 5, 2010, at North Point Nursing Home in Paola. He was born Nov. 16, 1917, on a farm north of Paola, the son of Harry and Olah Grimes Everhart. Dale was a lifelong farmer, living in the same home from the age of 3. He married Jean Richardson of Osawatomie in 1938 at a friends’ house in Virgil, Kan., and subsequently raised their three boys on the family farm. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church, a USD 368 school board member, lifelong member of the Paola Rotary Club, and an active member of the Lake Region RC&D Council. He was very active in many other organizations. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; a brother, Homer; a great-grandson, Nicholas Everhart; and a grandson, Mark Everhart. He is survived by his sons, Richard, Larry and Alan; daughters-in-law, Carol and Lisa; grandchildren, Russell, Kellie Maynard, Shellie, Gretchen, Sean and Michael; and six great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372. Condolences may be left at www.penwellgabel.com.
