Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Chitwood of Paola will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by going out for a family dinner. 
Glenn Chitwood of Osawatomie and Bernice Chitwood of Leavenworth were married July 16, 1960, in Ottawa, at the home of the Rev. Ivan Yingling, pastor of the Green Valley Baptist Church in Osawatomie. Attendants were Ron Yingling and Phyllis McCune, sister of the bride.
The couple have one son, William Glenn Chitwood of Paola.
Mr. Chitwood retired from Delco Battery in 1992. He volunteers at the Miami County Medical Center.
Mrs. Chitwood retired from Taylor Forge Engineered Systems in 2002. She volunteers at the Miami County Historical Museum. |

Chris Renner and Barbara Vohs were united in marriage June 18, 1960, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Louisburg. They have lived in Louisburg all of their lives.  
They have three children and their spouses, Christine and Merlin Niebaum, Leman and Jennifer Renner, Carrie and Neal Vohs, all of Louisburg, and seven grandchildren.
The Renners will be having a small celebration with their immediate family Friday. |

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kircher and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morrisey, all of Louisburg, recently returned from a 10-day western Mediterranean cruise in honor of their 45th wedding anniversaries.
Linda Morman and Sharon Richmond were students at Louisburg Rural High School. Paul Kircher was two years older and also a student at the school. 
Morman and Kircher were married May 8, 1965, at Wea Catholic Church. The Kirchers are the parents of two sons.
Richmond and Morrisey were married Aug. 22, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg. The Morriseys have two sons and a daughter. While on the cruise, the couples visited Italy, Monaco, Spain, Mallorca and Tunisia.
“We’re not in Kansas anymore,” were the first words spoken upon arrival in Rome.
The couples sailed on Holland America’s Eurodam after spending four days in Rome.
Volcanic ash canceled their original return flight. “It was a lovely adventure,” said Sharon Morrisey, “but there’s no place like home.” |

Tom and Imogene (Gene) Hook celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday at the Christian Church in Louisburg. 
They were married April 16, 1950, in Nevada, Mo.
The Hooks’ four children and their families, Joann Hook of Louisburg, Jerry and Jan Hook of Independence, Mo., Donna and Jim Davis of Olathe, and Lori Cutshaw of Louisburg, shared a family dinner in honor of the special occasion.
Also in attendance were seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The children surprised their parents with a card shower. Cards were received from family members, high school friends, life-long friends and First Baptist Church of Louisburg members.
Mr. and Mrs. Hook are enjoying the cards they received and are recalling fond memories of friends and family from years past. |

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Prettyman of Louisburg will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at a private family gathering.  
Jerry Prettyman and Janie Kueser were married April 4, 1970, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg. They made their home in Louisburg. Mr. Prettyman is a retired rural letter carrier. His wife is an office manager for MoKan Dial.
They are the parents of Greg Prettyman of Louisburg, Angie Shanklin of Wildwood, Mo., and Tony Prettyman of Merriam, Kan. They have eight grandchildren. |
