As we celebrate the joyous news of the divine incarnation, the Annunciation of the Theotokos (March 25) is one of the most celebrated feasts of the Mother of God in Christianity.

According to the Gospel of Luke (Chapter 1: 26-38), six months after Gabriel announced to Zacharias about the birth of John the Forerunner by his wife Elizabeth, the archangel went to the city of Galilee at the command of God.
