With the excellent Hernandez, Panathinaikos won the derby with Olympiakos 3-1 to clinch first place in the regular season of the Volley league. Big Green upset in the fourth set.

Panathinaikos won the big derby against Olympiakos as it won 3-1 and took joint first place in the Volley League in the regular season, which translated into home advantage in the playoffs. Hernandez's Greens caused a major shock in the fourth set, with Andreopoulos trailing 19-13.

Panathinaikos was in control throughout the first set, which was won without being particularly threatened. The Greens went on a 5-0 run from the start to go 1-0 up 25-19. Despite the Greens starting well with three points in a row, Olympiakos counter-attacked. The red and white team took the lead for the first time in the second set with a clearly improved image. Olympiakos won the second set 25-23 to level the score at 1-1.

The third set was particularly lopsided as the match was point-to-point. It was Panathinaikos who had the details on their side, 26-24 to 2-1. Olympiakos dominated the fourth set, leading most of it and taking a 19-13 lead.

However, Shamrock, with sustained counterattacks and consecutive points, came back to take the set early and then with a surprise reversal, took the fourth set, winning 25-23 and 3-1. First in game and regular time.
