Taylor Swift tops global sales for 4th time

Taylor Swift to top global sales in 2023! The popular American pop singer has retained the scepter for the fourth time since the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonography Industry) awarded the title.

The chart, which was topped by pop superstar Taylor Swift for the 11th time, was “judged by an artist or group's worldwide sales across all versions in the past year:

across streaming, downloads and physical media and their entire repertoire,” IFPI, which represents the recorded music industry worldwide, explained today.

The 2023 award follows the 2014, 2019 and 2022 awards. The IFPI confederation praises a great year in which the artist counted three albums (…) at the top of the charts during the reissues of “Midnights” and “Speak Now” and “1989”.

“Through the record-setting Eras Tour, he brought his full repertoire back to the limelight on streaming platforms in the four corners of the globe,” the organization continues.

“This event was reflected in the success of the + Cruel Summer + song, which was originally released in 2019 and returned to the top of the charts four years later,” IFPI said.

K-Pop stars Seventeen and Stray Kids took second and third place in “Record Year for Korean Artists.” Four K-Pop groups are in the top 10, with Tomorrow X together at number 7 and Newjeans at number 8.
