AEK are moving to sign 24-year-old Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Robert Ljubisic, according to Croatian media.

AEK are pushing for the first signing of the winter transfer window as negotiations with Dinamo Zagreb to sign Robert Ljubisic are at an advanced stage, Croatia can reveal.

The Croats Confirming the 24-year-old defensive midfielder is AEK's closest move, developments are imminent as the transfer market in Greece closes tomorrow (31/01).

Ljubisic has played 27 times in all competitions this year with two goals and four assists. He mainly plays as a midfielder, although this season he has also played as a left-back, which he does not like because he does not like playing in that position. The deal with the Croatians runs until the summer of 2027.

In AEK's games against Dinamo, he played as a starter and did not miss a single minute, including a 2–0 win at the OPAP Arena. But it was he who waved and won the Union penalty in the final.

Those games were notable because AEK's friend Michalis Katsouris was killed in an attack by Croatian thugs, but Ljubisic has no problem coming to Greece, as the Croatians claim.

Robert Ljubicic celebrates his goal against AEK in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League at the OPAP Arena.
