A senior commander of Hezbollah's elite Radwan force was killed today in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, three security sources said.
Wissam al-Taweel was killed following the killing of Saleh al-Aruri of Hamas.
The sources said he was Wissam al-Taweel, deputy division commander of the Radwan Force. They said he and another Hezbollah fighter were killed when their car crashed into the strike in the Lebanese village of Majdal Selm.
“It was a very painful blow,” said one of the sources. Another source added, “Things are about to heat up.”

More than 130 Hezbollah fighters have been killed since October 7
Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 130 Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon since cross-border shelling began on October 7 after Hamas attacked Israeli soil. Another 19 people were killed in Syria.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned Israel in two televised addresses last week against launching a full-scale war in Lebanon.
“Anyone who thinks of war with us will regret a word,” Nasrallah said.
